From our hotel – right in the center of Neustift – you can start your winter adventures right from the hotel door. Glide down the cross-country ski trails or set off on a winter hike through the snow-covered landscape – the tranquillity of the valley is just a few steps away from your accommodation.

From here you can also quickly reach the toboggan run or an ice rink for ice skating. After an active day in the winter air, you can return to the comfort of our hotel and warm up again in the hotel sauna.

The ideal location for your winter vacation: Neustift is nestled in the center of the Stubaital. The Hotel Augarten is located directly in the village center, surrounded by the picturesque mountain scenery.

You are perfectly connected from your accommodation. The bus stop for the valley buses is right next to the house. And for small errands or a little shopping, the stores and stores are within easy walking distance.

Snowshoeing in Neustift

Explore over 41 kilometers of tobogganing fun, from the longest snow-covered run to a leisurely family route. With the seal of approval for safety and practical rental stations, nothing stands in the way of your winter adventure.

Winter hiking

Around Neustift in the Stubai Valley, a dreamlike fairytale landscape opens up for relaxing hikes in winter. The valley has an excellent network of winter hiking trails, inviting you to enjoy relaxed walks and more challenging tours

Suggestions for winter hikes:

  • Brandstattalm hike – 3.5 km, approx. 1.5 hours
    Leisurely hike to a rustic alpine pasture – ideal for families
  • Milderaunalm hike – 4.1 km, approx. 2 hours
    Popular tour with refreshment stop and toboggan run option
  • Neustift – Schaller winter hiking trail – 5.9 km, approx. 1.5 hours
    Easy tour suitable for families. Refreshment stops along the route
  • Gamsgarten mountain station winter hiking trail – 1.6 km, 45 min.
    Hiking over the peaks on the glacier with great views, medium difficulty

Off to cross-country skiing fun

The Stubai Valley has more than 40 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails at various altitudes. These include challenging high-altitude trails on the Stubai Glacier and Schlick 2000, which are particularly snow-sure due to their location

A special experience is the floodlit night trail in Milders, which can be used in the evening until 22:00 and allows cross-country skiing under the stars. The approximately 27-kilometre-long valley trail is ideal for a longer tour

Many cross-country ski trails in the Stubai Valley have been awarded the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval, which stands for a high standard of grooming and safety.

  • In the sports stores: In the villages of the Stubai Valley, such as Neustift, Fulpmes and Mieders, you will find sports stores that rent out cross-country skiing equipment.
  • Rental at the mountain railroads: You can also hire equipment at the valley stations of the mountain lifts, such as the Elferlifte, Schlick 2000 and Serlesbahnen.
Have fun on the ice
Curling and ice skating

In Neustift you can enjoy curling and ice skating on two special rinks: on the artificial ice rink next to the music pavilion and on the idyllic Klaus Äuele natural ice rink.

Curling is a popular sport where fun and a little ambition go hand in hand, and it offers a welcome change of pace for young and old alike.

Curling at the Neustift ice rink is possible by appointment by calling +43 (0)664 277 87 00. The entrance fee for one hour is 10 euros per person. At the Klaus Äuele natural ice rink, you can rent the rink for one hour for 25 euros without booking in advance.

And while the adults test their skills at curling, the children can let off steam on the ice rink. Ice skates can be hired directly at the rink.
